About Your Librarian

 

Hi Sailboats! I'm Mrs. Johnson, your Harbor View Elementary librarian. I’ve worked in schools for over 20 years, including teaching high school math and helping out in kindergarten classrooms. I have three college degrees—one in Chemistry, one in Math Education, and one in Library and Information Science (that’s the fancy way of saying I studied how to run a great library!).

I love helping students find books they’re excited to read and showing them how to ask big questions, explore new ideas, and become confident learners.

When I’m not at school, I love running, reading, boating, and watching South Carolina Gamecock football. My husband is a firefighter, and we have two grown-up kids—one teaches music and the other protects wildlife.

Our library is a place where everyone is welcome. I’m so glad to be your librarian!
